Practice nurses, Midwife Community psychiatric Nurse (with a good support & liaison with local consultant psychiatrist & community psychiatric team). Our CPN was involved in a pilot CBT project. We are a democratic friendly practice with five doctors & a retainee, currently practising from converted premises in Wimbledon. Serving a population of 9,300, we are contracted to the Nelson primary care trust as a PMS plus practice. We have been a teaching & training practice over three decades, providing a stimulating & learning environment to undergraduate medical students from Imperial, Charing Cross, St. Mary’s & St.George's medical School as well as General Practice registrar’s training from St. Georges Vocational Training Scheme. With the GP Registrars our aim is to identify & re-enforce their strengths, even as we identify & help them to overcome their weaknesses covering the core curriculum. Over the years our GP registrars have gone on to achieve very successful MRCGP examination results & subsequent careers. PRACTICE HOURSSurgery Hours are from 8.30am-6.30pm. Monday to Friday, Closed on Saturday. We operate an on-call system of 1:6; out of hours call is covered by Croydoc who will provide Telephone advice & a home visit if necessary.
GENERALAt the practice we have regular practice & staff meetings. We use the EMIS computer system & all the staff are fully trained. We have a direct computer link with the pathology laboratory at St. Helier Hospital NHS Trust. We have close links with St. George’s, St. Helier, Nelson, Epsom & Kingston hospitals. We have an excellent library facility. Our Prescribing is below national average and the practice is involved in first wave PCT & PMS plus project. We are in a pleasant locality with good schools in the area, good commuting distance from central London through British rail & underground stations. We provide a good range of personal & medical services with a good clinical reputation, choice of either sex & multilingual staff.
